New committee formed for 2010/11 season
25 May 2010

Jeff IsraelLast Sunday the Maccabi AJAX Cricket Club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where Club President Jeffrey Israel took the opportunity to praise and congratulate the entire 2009/10 committee for their hard work and efforts over the previous season.

The Treasurer’s report was also reviewed, and the report highlighted the clubs off field success.

The AGM also saw some new and exciting appointments to the club committee.

Once again Jeffrey Israel will take up the role as club President but Marc Felman has stepped down from his position of Vice President after two years in the role, while David Majtlis has stepped down from being Treasurer - also after two years.

Benny Spicer and Leon Jacobs have taken on joint Vice President roles, with Jarrod Newton taking over as Treasurer and Brad Abrahams set to continue in the role as Secretary for the third consecutive year.

Israel also used the opportunity to review the on and off field success of the club over the past season.

“The greatest challenge that the club faces this season is recruitment and player numbers,” he said.

“Due to the extremely hard work of last season’s committee, we as a club are really well placed to face the challenges that the future will bring.

"As a committee we have recognised the urgent need to be directing all of our energies and efforts to the on field issues this season.

"Whilst preseason is still months away we would encourage all cricket lovers to contact us and be part of our great sporting club,” Israel concluded.

The 2009/10 Annual Report will be available to download in the coming weeks from the club website.
